Trip Overview – Mt. Everest / Chomolungma (8,848.86 m / 29,031.7 ft) Expedition – South Side via Khumbu Icefall

The Mt. Everest / Chomolungma Expedition from the South Side through the legendary Khumbu Icefall is the ultimate mountaineering challenge and a lifelong dream for climbers around the world. Rising to 8,848.86 meters (29,031.7 feet), Everest—known in Tibetan as Chomolungma, “Goddess Mother of the World”—stands as the highest point on Earth and the pinnacle of human endurance, courage, and determination.

This expedition, organized by Sherpa Delights Treks & Expeditions Pvt. Ltd., follows the classic route first successfully climbed by Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay Sherpa in 1953. The journey begins with a scenic flight to Lukla, followed by a trek through the heart of the Khumbu Valley, passing through Namche Bazaar, Tengboche, and Gorak Shep, before reaching Everest Base Camp (5,364 m)—the launching point for the climb.

From Base Camp, climbers navigate the awe-inspiring yet treacherous Khumbu Icefall, a constantly shifting maze of towering ice seracs and deep crevasses. This section demands technical precision, teamwork, and courage, as climbers ascend using ladders and ropes fixed by expert fixing guides. Beyond the Icefall lies Camp I in the Western Cwm, followed by Camp II at the base of the Lhotse Face, Camp III on the steep icy slopes, and Camp IV at the South Col (7,950 m)—the final staging point before the summit push.

The final ascent begins in the stillness of the night, climbing past the Balcony, South Summit, and the narrow Hillary Step, before reaching the summit of Mount Everest, where the world unfolds beneath your feet. Standing atop Chomolungma is a moment of profound triumph—a union of human spirit and the majesty of nature.

Led by IFMGA-certified mountain guides and supported by an elite team of experienced Sherpa climbers, Sherpa Delights Treks & Expeditions Pvt. Ltd. ensures the highest standards of safety, logistics, and professionalism. Every detail—from acclimatization schedules to high-altitude support—is meticulously planned to maximize your chances of success while maintaining respect for the mountain and its environment.

The Everest South Side Expedition via Khumbu Icefall is not just a climb—it’s a journey into the heart of the Himalayas, a test of endurance, and a tribute to the indomitable human spirit that dares to reach the top of the world.

A Professional Approach to Everest

Everest is not just about reaching the summit—it is about making the right decisions at the right time. Our expeditions are carefully structured around:

  • International IFMGA guiding standards

  • Small team ratios for personal attention and safety

  • Progressive acclimatization and rotation planning

  • Weather-driven summit strategies

  • Strong emergency and rescue preparedness

Every detail, from Base Camp logistics to summit push timing, is planned with precision and flexibility—because conditions on Everest demand both.

Led by Experience, Guided by Responsibility

Our Everest programs are led by experienced IFMGA-certified mountain guides and supported by highly trained, government-certified Sherpa guides and expedition staff. Together, we bring:

  • Decades of high-altitude experience

  • Deep local knowledge of the Khumbu region

  • Strong decision-making under extreme conditions

  • Respect for climbers, culture, and the mountain

We believe leadership matters most when conditions are hardest.

Safety Is Our Core Value

On Everest, safety is not a feature—it is a foundation. Our expeditions emphasize:

  • Thorough pre-expedition screening and preparation

  • High-altitude medical awareness and monitoring

  • Clear turnaround rules and ethical summit decisions

  • Responsible use of oxygen and fixed-line systems

We do not promise the summit.
We promise honest guiding, transparent decisions, and your best possible chance—guided responsibly.

More Than a Summit

Climbing Everest with Sherpa Delight is not about ticking a box. It is about:

  • Understanding the mountain

  • Respecting Sherpa culture and heritage

  • Minimizing environmental impact

  • Becoming part of a legacy built on integrity

The summit is optional. Coming home safely—with pride and perspective—is success.

Why Climb Everest with Sherpa Delight?

  • IFMGA-certified mountain leadership

  • Professionally structured expedition systems

  • Ethical, safety-first guiding philosophy

  • Deep Himalayan roots and global standards
